Lindsay Lohan checks in to jail
By Eleanor Young on Wednesday 21 July 2010
Lindsay Lohan started her jail time yesterday, entering prison to cheers and catcalls from inmates, before donning a (less-than-flattering) regulation orange jumpsuit.

But the troubled star made sure she looked her best for the prison snap, arriving at the Los Angeles correctional facility with freshly blow-dried hair and plumped up lips.
Breaking down in tears as she pulled up at a side entrance, Lindsay was showered with gold confetti by a fan, before being swept inside the venue by officers.
It’s thought the nervous star was then subjected to a full cavity search, before being snapped in her new prison ensemble and led to a cell.
Officers confirmed Lindsay would be snacking on spaghetti with meat sauce and broccoli for supper, but wouldn’t get to meet her fellow prisoners as she’s set to be kept in solitary confinement.
But reports suggest the star could have checked in to the cell next to Alexis Neiers, who is serving a sentence for burgling the home of Orlando Bloom.

Taking to Twitter for the very last time before her sentence, the actress expressed her surprise at the fact she had to be ‘booked in’ to the facility.
‘The only 'bookings' that I'm familiar with are Disney Films, never thought that I'd be 'booking' into jail eeeks,’ she told followers.

But it seems Lindsay needn’t worry too much about her time inside, as she might not be spending so long there after all.
It’s thought the Mean Girls star could end up serving a just 14 days out of her 90-day sentence, due to prison overcrowding.
Do you think Lindsay should be made to serve the full 90 days? Or was a prison sentence too harsh for the star? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box below.

She should have to do the full 90 days. Celebrities get off way too lightly

She should serve the full term of her sentence. She already appears to believe that she's above the law, so releasing her after just 14 days will only re-inforce this belief. She's a grown-up now, and at the risk of quoting a old chestnut - do the crime, serve the time. I wonder if I would receive such lenient treatment? I doubt it.

I despair at how depressingly stupid this girl is. Its not difficult to avoid prison... just don't drink and drive!
Comment by Camilla on July 21 13:13
No, She should be made to spend the rest of the term doing community service though

I dont see why starsa get special treatment when they get sentenced to jail. If she was a normal person on the street it would be the full sentence and no solitary confinement. It a joke to the stars!!

she should do the full 90 days these "A listers" think theyre above the law and they need making an example of,

I agree with Sharon...community service or maybe forced to go to rehab would be much better. I'm sure just the 14 days should teach her a lesson as sure she'd never want to do that again!!

It should be the full 90 days. 14 would go by in a flash and easily be wiped from memory. Celebs can treat community service very lightly too, so I don't think that that would be helpful in this case.
Hopefully she will reflect on all her actions and be able to get back on track when released.

Spoilt Brat. No sense. With all her money and the advantages that gives (like paying for a driver?) she is getting what she deserves. I hope she has to pay the full term.
