George Clooney's girlfriend denies Jennifer Aniston Twitter insult

There could be an A-list catfight brewing today, after George Clooney's Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis inadvertently insulted Jennifer Aniston on Twitter.

The model denies comparing Jen to aging rockstar Iggy Pop on the social networking site, claiming it was all a misunderstanding.

Elisabetta's alleged Tweet read: 'I'm browsing again through the pages of Rolling Stone. Iggy Pop on the cover looks exactly like Jennifer Aniston.'

Oh dear.

But just hours later Elisabetta scrambled to clear the matter up after hearing about the mishap.

‘I JUST READ ON GOOGLE That I TWEETED something bad about J Aniston, let me be clear, it's a complete LIE, I would never do that!!'' she tweeted.

Confused? We were. But it seems that Elisabetta had accidentally Retweeted another Tweeter's post, resulting in the colossal mix up

...who knows but I doubt G Clooney will like having a bitchy girlfriend...if it is true..she prob just thought it was funny...and then realised the implications....but..who cares..No one has heard what JA has to say on it...if shes not bothered ..Im not...shes beautiful..

I DON'T KNOW WHO POSTED THE PHOTOS ABOVE - BUT I COULD SEE THE SIMILARITIES - LIKE FATHER AND DAUGHTER? MAYBE SHE WILL LOOK LIKE THAT WHEN SHE GETS OLDER. ??? ANYWAY, WHO'S INSULTING WHO HERE? FROM THE PHOTOS ABOVE NEITHER OF THEM LOOK TERRIBLE?! I DON'T HINK ELISABETTA MEANT ANY HARM - JUST NOTICING THE SIMILARITIES.

I think it's a compliment to be compared to I can see some similarities. Iggy Pop - He looks great for his age...

I think George Clooneys girlfriend looks like a female version of him?
