Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson announced their split over the weekend, but now it's thought they could get back together after spending some time apart.

On Sunday Gavin jetted off to notorious Spanish party capital Benidorm with a group of male pals, while Charlotte has been spotted shopping and spending time with family.

But friends of the couple say the pair are not ready to throw away their five-year relationship at the first sign of trouble, suggesting there could be a reconciliation after a ‘few months' break.

'It is still early days, but Charlotte and Gavin do love each other - it's not impossible that they will get back together again,' one insider told the Daily Mail yesterday.

'They are taking a few months off and will then see how they feel. They don't want to throw away five years together in the blink of an eye.'

'They just need some distance at the moment.'

The famous Welsh couple - who already have two children, Ruby, two, and Dexter, sixteen months - got engaged just six weeks ago, after Gav whisked Charlotte off for a romantic lunch in Cornwall.

And at the time Charlotte spoke of her delight at the proposal.

'We were always like: 'Yeah, yeah, we'll do it one day,' but I was beginning to think I was going to be girlfriend for the rest of my life,' she joked at the time.

No - don't do it Gavin!!! You're well rid!!! She only cares about money - she's a has-been - I have never bought her records/Cds - and never will!!!!! The way her throat trembled always put me off - she's nothing!!!

A little harsh Cate!? Charlotte is ace - although I have never bought her records either - I think it's unfair to call her a has been, she appears to be doing very well for herself. Good luck to them and their children, hopefully they can work things out.

Cate you obviously dont have kids! The problems with celebs is that they give up at the first sign of trouble instead of working through to at least see if they have a chance. Charlotte is a hard working mother who sseems down to earth. Its gavin thats the hasbeen! Rugby career not as it was. Maybe he is jealous of his hot new look wife back in the spotlight after shunning it to raise her kids. I hope they can work it out!

Whatever happens, hope they do what is best for the kids. It's not always best to stay together for them but hope they do

shame on you cate, such a horrible attitude! i think they should try and work through it, for the sake of their kids. but if they can't, they always know there won't be any hostility between them.

Wow Cate - you sound rather bitter! There are children involved and I sense the green eyed monster. I am neither a fan nor dislike her. She has grown up a lot and I do consider she has talent. He can be a bit of a lad - and who knows what goes on in someone else's relationship. Better they sort things out now and I do hope that they make the right decision. I rather agree with Linds' comments.
