Lindsay Lohan's latest accessory is not a good one. The star has been ordered to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet after appearing in court on drink driving charges.

The troubled Mean Girls star attended the Beverly Hills court make-up free in a plain black suit, five days after missing her first hearing.

Lindsay had been attending a string of parties at the Cannes film festival at the time of her first due court appearance, but claimed she was stranded in Europe without a passport and couldn't return in time to attend.

But now Li-Lo has been ordered to wear a bracelet which will monitor her alcohol intake every 30 minutes.

A judge told Lindsay she must wear the tamper-proof device at all times, and also ruled she must not drink, take drugs or leave the state of California.

Lawyers argued the electronic tag would interfere with Lindsay's planned schedule of photo shoots and filming.

But the judge ignored their pleas, reminding the star that she had already failed to complete an alcohol education course as part of a 2007 drunken driving charge.

And this time any refusal to comply could see Lindsay locked up for up to six months.

Fair enough - why should she get away with it just because she's a celebrity. They get away with far too much anyway! As for it interfering with her work - she should've thought of that before she went driving around over the limit!!

In what world is Lindsay Lohan still considered a star? Mean Girls was over 6 years ago.
She has never been held accountable for any of her actions, her awful mother makes every excuse under the sun. She needs to be punished, if it had been me or you we'd be in jail right now.

I totally agree with Louise. She's not even famous now, apart from her problems. She should be in jail already.
