Charlotte Church and Alexa Chung - Who wore it best?

Save for being twenty-something Brits who both front TV shows, Charlotte Church and Alexa Chung don't appear to have a lot in common, but they clearly share taste in dresses.

Both starlets have been spotted within the last month wearing Versus Spring/Summer '10 safety pin dresses, but while Charlotte chose the LBD version, Alexa had a red lady moment in scarlet.

First up, Ms Chung picked out the design for the Art of Elysium Gala in New York, and teamed it with some black patent Mary Janes and a quilted chain handle bag. Covering up against the NY chill, she arrived with a black boyfriend blazer slung over her shoulders.

Fast forward a week and the lovely Ms Church chose the design for her big moment in the spotlight, when she stepped out of her judges seat and onto the stage, to sing live on Over the Rainbow.

Wearing her hair in a messy updo, the songstress teamed her dress with classic black courts.

Charlotte Church wins because this dress style is definately only suited to a younger person and now that she has lost all that weight she looks so elegant in a fresh young way. I dont think it suits Alexa, it simply isnt her, she comes across as having a more classical image that simply doesnt work with a dress of this style, plus I think the jacket worn draped over like that so doesnt work, it is swamping the dress.

Charlotte for me! She looks amazing. Loving the hair and her new figure. I'm not one for believing all celebs have to be super-skinny, but losing a little bit of weight has really done wonders for her.

Charlotte definitely, Alexa has lost far too much weight and is a shadow of her former self. Come back to England Alexa!
