Hollywood hot star Ryan Phillipe has opened up about his relationship with ex-wife Reese Witherspoon in new US interview.

Speaking on American chat show Ellen, Ryan told viewers his relationship with Reece is 'great'.

He also spoke about how, despite being separated , they are still are 'there for each other', and get along well for the sake of their children.

'Things are great,' Ryan told the host.

'It is so important as divorced parents to keep that connection. It makes the kids feel better that the parents are interacting... We go to all the school events together, and we're there for each other.'

But despite splitting with Reese - who is now dating Hollywood agent Jim Toth - back in 2006, Ryan insists he is happy staying single for the time being.

'Sort of my emphasis right now is on the kids and career. I think it would be good for me to be single for a little bit. Yeah, find some focus, some personal focus.'
