Britney Spears - LATEST! Britney Spears sings Lady GaGa - Celebrity News - Marie Claire

It's been revealed Britney Spears turned down Lady Gaga's latest single Telephone, after a demo recording of her singing the song was leaked.

Reports suggest Lady G originally wrote the song for Britney's Circus album, but the track was canned after Britney turned it down.

But not before recording a demo, which has now surfaced after a leak at the recording company.

And Britney fans have been listening to the track in their thousands.

Music producer Rodney Darkchild Jerkins spoke about the incident on Twitter.

‘Not sure who leaked Britney Telephone,' he Tweeted.

‘Just listened and yes it's the demo, not a mixed version. I will not leak a mixed version. I am respecting Britney and Jive wishes.'

Lady GaGa did not write the song for Britney ....Britney and somebody else wrote the song but afterwards Britney was not very intrested.....GaGa likedit so Britney(being very kind)offered it to her....The Britney Version is way better!

To the people who are saying that it sounds robotic, etc that's because it's a DEMO. Don't you know how much mixing and matering goes in to a song before it's released? It's pretty much the same, I like it better without the Beyone bit to be honest.

Lady Gaga was writing songs for other artists as well as playing New York clubs before Akon got her a record contract (she wrote for him amongst others). I'd heard she wrote a song for Brittney who'd given it her back, I'm actually surprised how similar the two recordings are. If I hadn't heard Lady Gaga/Beyonce first I would have liked this version well enough but I do think Gaga punches out the lyrics more aggressively (particularly the "stop calling, stop calling" bit). I like it both with Beyonce and without her (performed live by Lady Gaga alone). Brittney did NOT write this song Dylan. It has Lady Gaga written all over it. It was interesting to hear what might have been if Brittany had not made the inexplicable decision to turn it down - its a great pop track whoever is singing it.

I think you guys have to remember this is a DEMO version and not the final version.

Unless you are comparing this with GaGa's DEMO version then fair enough.

Britney sounds ok on this.

Omg please!!!! As anyone ever heard a demo it does not sound like that!! But to be far with a lot of work I think britneys version wudda been good! I agree tho it's better without beyonce bit tho it's just annoying and drags the song on!

I think that Britney and Lady Gaga are both brilliant performers and composers. I like both versions - it doesnt matter who sings it - its a great song and they both do it justice.

Gaga nailed it by getting Beyonce involved - Britney's version is good, but Gaga and Beyonce - AMAZING!! Even if Britney had released it - it wouldn't have had the same impact.

Which version is better: Lady Gaga feat Beyonce or Britney Spears feat Autotune?! Britney relies so much on autotune it is a joke and I'm glad Gaga took her song back.
