Heather Mills bags free tickets in radio phone-in
By Eleanor Young on Wednesday 28 April 2010
Heather Mills stunned listeners of a local radio station by taking part in a radio phone-in to win free gig tickets.
Sir Paul McCartney's millionaire ex-wife - who identified herself simply as Heather from Hove - called the station during the live competition to try and get her hands on tickets to a sold-out Whitney Housten concert.
2010'S MOST SHOCKING CELEBRITY SCANDALS
The star correctly identified the missing word in some Whitney lyrics to take the prize.
And she seemed very happy with her win.
‘That's wonderful. Thank you so much. I can take my girlfriend. I'm really excited,' she said, still live on air.
But shocked Heart FM DJ Paul Hayes at first had no idea the mystery caller was in fact a famous face.
‘It suddenly clicked,' he said afterwards.
‘The accent, the address, the name.'
And although she said she would take a friend, it seems Heather was trying to win the tickets for her ex-mother-in-law.
‘Whitney Houston sold out, called Heart FM for a laugh to try and win tickets for my ex's 82 yr old Mega fan Mum and WON, SHE IS SO HAPPY xx', she Tweeted after the call.

Despite a winning a whopping £24.3 million in her divorce settlement from Paul, Heather claims she has already spent the money, so maybe she really did need to resort to a radio phone-in for her trip.
'Most of it's been given to charity, gone into ethical businesses or paid for a couple of properties for my daughter's future security,' she said recently of her payout.
‘I could never sit with millions of pounds in the bank that could make matters change.'
What do you think of Heather's radio phone-in? Should she have used her own money to buy her tickets, or did she win fair and square? Let us know your verdict in the comments box below.

SHAME on Heart FM. They should ban people who can afford to buy tickets!
SHAME on Heather Mills! Is she trying to 'curry-favour' once more?
Comment by Gail (Oxon.) on April 28 13:25
She is as entitled to enter as anyone else is surely. How could she use her own money when it was sold out?
Comment by Nicola on April 28 13:38
I don't like Paul McCartney but felt sorry for him big time after what this evil witch did to him. Now she is just carrying on with her 'me, me, me' ways. Whatever she can get for nothing, she will. She is a disgrace. Maybe she should take up politics, she's got all the credentials!
Comment by PAUL THACKER on April 28 14:18
I do agree with you, Nicola, she IS entitled to enter as anyone else!
Comment by incminc on April 28 14:23
Anyone can enter a contest, but if you have any class with lots of money you did not earn, you would not. I also do not believe that she gave away all her money to charity. It was proven in court that she was a liar. It was also proven that she never gave the 80% to charity she always claims she did. The only money she gave away was given to her by McCartney. She ran an unregistered charity for years with absolutely no records kept. She is a liar and a fraud. Her favorite chaity is herself and her quest to be famous (with no talent).

winning things isn't always about getting something you can buy - as was the case this time. What's the big deal? She won them fair and square!
Comment by Amanda on April 28 15:45
Personally, I think it's quite amusing given everything that's happened. I'd love to see the look on everyone's face when she gave it to her ex-mother-in-law
Comment by John on April 28 17:12
But the point is that the gig was sold out so no amount of money was going to get her tickets, so why dwell on her fortune, shes as entitled as anyone else. The media doesn't like her so its just another excuse to bash her.

Dont quite see what radio shows can do ..they cant demand a readout of your bank account and job credentials.and celebrity ID..
It should be up to the integrity of the person phoning in.

Exactly good on her she phone, and won and why not?
Comment by Anna on April 28 19:31
She is entitled but she shouldn't have entered. I'm
sure she has the money to buy travel to one of Whitney Houston's gigs elsewhere that wasn't sold out. She really sickens me.
Comment by Hannah on April 28 19:54
What if there were no tickets available for her to buy. Anyone in her situation may have done the same. It is a free world after all!
Comment by Katy Han on April 28 22:03
Well if Whitney is as poor in concert as she was a few weeks ago when she was slated for her performance the tickets won't be worth having anyway!

How much money someone has is irrelevant. So she married someone (who just happened to be one of the UKs richest and most influencial men) and it didnt work out. Really people, is that any reason to brand her 'evil'????
No.
Just for the benefit of those people, the definition of prejudice;
prejudice
n
1. an opinion formed beforehand, esp an unfavourable one based on inadequate facts
2. the act or condition of holding such opinions
3. intolerance of or dislike for people of a specific race, religion, etc.
The colour of someones skin, the fact that they have one leg, wether they are rich or poor etc means nothing.
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself.

She is allowed to phone in , like any Joe Blogg to start with, and she gives and has given thousands and thousands to charities, nobody can denies that. Her raving and ranting days are over, give her a break and leave her in peace ( by the way I am a massive Beatles fan, that implies a Macca fan! )
