Stephenie Meyer to release fifth Twilight book! The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner
By Sarah Karmali on Wednesday 31 March 2010
Twilight fans, brace yourselves. We're predicting mass hysteria in June, when Stephenie Meyer releases her first book in two years - a spin-off from the phenomenally successful Twilight saga.
And the novel, entitled The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, is widely expected to become the fastest selling book of the year.
The short novella centres around bit-part character Bree, one of the newborn vampires that features in Eclipse - the third book in the Twilight franchise.
Fans will recall the young vampire as being part of the newborn army that rises up against Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and his family.

The Eclipse novella is set to be published at precisely 5.05am on 5th June in hardback, and priced £11.99.
The book will also be available to read as an e-book online at www.breetanner.com, from 7th June to 5th July, to enable fans worldwide to enjoy the tale.
‘I'd always considered The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner as something for the fans,' said Stephanie. ‘They have been so supportive of all things Twilight.'
The Twilight books have sold over 45 million copies worldwide - with the first three titles already having been made into films starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
The third film, Eclipse, will hit cinemas in July, while filming for the fourth title, Breaking Dawn is set to start in the Autumn.

more !? ugh, stephanie meyer, the saga is done. just let it lay. jk rowling did.
Comment by Katherine on March 31 12:42
Actually Katherine JK Rowling did quite a few of these little spin offs like the "tales of beedle the bard" and "fantastic beasts and where to find them" for charity. I think it should be good.
Comment by Samantha on March 31 13:33
Yes, JK did it for charity. That's the difference here surely... guessing the £11.99 per book will line Meyer's pockets. Although that's what the whole twilight 'saga' was about so at least it will be in keeping.
Comment by Suz on March 31 15:05
Actually Suz, if you look on the pic of the book cover above, you'll see that in the US one dollar from every book sold will go to the American Red Cross, so I'm sure something similar will take place in the UK too.
Plus - she's making it available for free online. That's not about the money is it?!
Comment by Michelle on March 31 15:47
so what if the author made money. the books are fantastic and all the fans willingly paid. they were worth every penny.
