Cheryl Cole has taken to Twitter to set the record straight over those wedding ring rumours - and she's not happy.

It's hard to remember a life pre-Twitter now, isn't it?

Since announcing the split from Ashley Cole a couple of weeks ago, it seems the world has been on eager Cheryl wedding-ring watch.

The starlet came under fire yesterday after she stepped out sans ring, and was accused of waving her hand around in front of cameras, as a message to her reportedly philandering husband.

Instead of releasing a public statement, the X Factor judge embraced the social networking site and posted several comments via her PR's Twitter page yesterday.

'I just wanted to clear up the stories about whether I am wearing my wedding ring in my own words, as this has been going on for too long and is getting boring,' she wrote.

'It is not some silly game I am playing. This is not me, and not my style.'

'There have been many occasions where I have not worn my wedding ring, many of those when I was pictured with Ashley,' she continued, in sentences 140 characters or less.

'I find it crazy that people would think I use this as some sort of msg. Believe it or not Ashley is fully aware or any situation going on in our personal lives.'

'He does not need to see a picture of me moving the hair out of my face to explain anything. Please drop it.'

This is getting beyond a joke. The talentless Geordie should get out of all our lives and stop trying to hog the headlines with pointless tweets about her wedding ring. Who cares apart from a few 12 year old kids?

Oh so you're bored cheryl?? Well what about the rest who couldn't give two hoots what you and your dreadful husband get up to. One bit of advice, stop courting the media, and you wouldn't be in this situation, but then again you wouldn't be crowned most influential woman of the decade, hahaha!

Oh my God, if you don't want the publicity then don't use your marriage as a publicity tool, stop courting press and either take the ring off and get rid of him, or take him back.
Makes me sick, she's not not some poor woman living on a council estate and the old man has just walked out on her and the kids, she's got millions to cry into.
