Victoria Beckham gets presenting slot on US chat show

Despite being panned by US TV critics for her recent stint on American Idol, the artist formerly known as Posh Spice is set to appear as a presenter on the high-profile US chat show, The View.

The former Spice Girl will join actresses Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd, and broadcaster Barbara Walters, as a guest co-host on the ABC show, a live programme similar to Loose Women. The show is set to air on 17 February 2010.

A spokesman for Beckham said she was excited about being a host.

'She had a lot of fun last time she was on the show, it's a real 'girlie' environment, the hosts are all strong, intelligent women who she respects and admires, and she is looking forward to returning to the show in a few weeks,' he said.

The singer-turned-fashion-designer appeared on The View as a guest last year, and was complimented by the hosts on her shoes, her clothing line and her footballer husband David.
