Cheryl Cole asks fans to help her win Brit Award
By Carla Bevan on Wednesday 27 January 2010
Cheryl Cole is pulling out all the stops to ensure she wins big at next month's Brit Awards.
The X Factor judge, who's in the running for Best British Single thanks to her chart-topping hit, Fight for This Love, put an appeal out via her website, cherylcole.com, yesterday asking fans to vote in their thousands.
'I don't know if you know this, I didn't. We have to vote in rounds to get through round one. I'm relying on you to vote,' a relaxed looking Cheryl relays to her fans via video message.
The site then urges people to add 'Team Cheryl' banners to their Facebook pages, Twitter the Brit Awards web link and basically get voting. They're even offering up a platinum single for the 'most active members of the team'.
Do you think Cheryl deserves to win? And, more importantly, will you be voting? Let us know below.

Isn't this bribery and corruption?

What a cheek ! Cheryl Cole can't sing, she's toneless, shouldn't get any votes based on one electronised ( to make her sound bearble )single ! Any votes she gets will be based on her looks, as usual, she has no singing talent whatsoever !

Out of all the nominees for that category she's pretty much the last act I'd like to see win.
On a side note I really hope Florence & the Machine gets an award, she's up for 2.

it isn't just Cheryl, Lady GaGa has the same message and banner promotions and no doubt many of the other nominees do also...

It's funny how people assume someone like Florence Welch is more 'real' than Cheryl Cole. Fine, of course you can prefer someone's music, but don't kid yourself that Florence & The Machine have more edge when Johnny Borrell writes their songs for them. Ms Welch comes from a privileged family and has probably had more strings pulled for her than I've had hot dinners to get where she is, so again, no less manufactured than Cheryl. I think Cheryl's infinitely more real and I yearn for the days of Riot Grrrrrl, so go figure...

She's not my bag at all but she can sing. I'm not on for her to win either but there's no need to be horrible. Can you tell I'm full of the cold?!

because of this bribery i have just voted for someone else!

She must be desperate to rely on Facebook - that is not real talent or truthful voting for the prize!!!! This woman is shameless - what has happened to real talent?? There must be so many undiscovered genii out there just waiting for a chance - and this woman and her even less talented husband get all the credit and money for nothing!!!!

She can't sing for toffee, she even sounds terrible once her voice has been electronically manipulated, no wonder she won't sing live! If she wins it will be purely based on her looks, she's very pretty but then again she does have an army of stylists and her extensions to do the hard work for her, so if anyone deserves a reward it's the poor Brazilian girl that had to chop off her hair in order to feed herself and Cheryl's stylists.

Cheryl bottled out of singing "live" on X Factor.Everything is false about her, hair eyelashes etc etc (lips?)Guess what? I really love her on panel of X Factor!!!

Best British single? Don't make me laugh, please, Cheryl Cole was not even the best singer in Girls Aloud, never mind in the UK! Fight For This Love was probably the most irritating song of the year, I heard it that often I couldn't get it out of my head even though I think it is pap! The only decent British female singer of last year was Pixie Lott and I have voted for Mama Do as best single. The state of British pop music in general is not great at the moment as can be seen by the success of the vocally challenged (although a pretty good dancer) Cheryl.

What a joke, she's obviously lacks that much talent that she has to beg for votes to win, any well respected artist with a natural talent should be rewarded free willingly by her fans not through the bribery and desperation of having to ask in the first place....

In reply to CathyB's comment, I never suggested Florence was any more or less 'real' than Cheryl, nor did I suggest she had more of an edge - I didn't compare them at all. In fact, it's a bit of a moot point as they are not in any of the same categories. I don't care how manufactured or 'real' artists are, these days the majority of mainstream music is written by someone other than those singing the song anyway. Girls Aloud is one of my favourite bands but I really do not like Cheryl Cole, I have her album and was vastly unimpressed by it. I never considered her one of the better singers in Girls Aloud anyway. But if we're comparing to Florence then at least she can sing beautifully live, something Cheryl won't even do. But really, I was just stating that I preferred one artist's music over the other's...

I quite like the song but don't think it deserves to win - it's not strong enough.
Comment by Jules on January 28 19:05
If she win s any award, it will be a big shame to the Brits award , for goodness sake she cannot sing live or contributes to her music, please do not let her win any thing.
