Reports suggest the music mogul has heard about Robert's ambitions as a budding musician and wants to offer him a recording contract.
Lovely R-Patz has made no secret of the fact that he's planning a music career at the end of his role in the Twilight Saga, and has even had one of his songs featured on the New Moon soundtrack.
And the shy singer/songwriter has also penned more tracks, which are yet to be released.
‘I write songs, that's true. I'll record a few tracks as soon as I finish the promotion for the movies, but before I won't to do anything' the vampy star has said in the past.
But it seems that Simon Cowell's interest has sparked a bidding war for the Twilight heartthrob, with other record companies all trying to get in on the act.

And they may well be in luck.
Insiders suggest Rob is not so keen on joining Mr Cowell's label, due to its connection with the X Factor and other reality shows.
It's well known that R-Patz is publicity-shy and prefers to stay out of the limelight during his down time.
‘Robert is reluctant to be turned into a pop star - and takes his music very seriously,' one insider said.
‘He is a bit wary of signing up with Cowell who is, of course, associated with X Factor and pop.'

Could you see Robert Pattinson as a singing sensation? Should he sign with Simon Cowell or would he better off launching his music career elsewhere? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box below.

I don't think he should sign with Simon Cowell, they would try and make him record some mass produced rubbish. I think Rob would be better off with a smaller or independant label

If Cowell can be sensitive for a change and let Rob work with his musical pals to create a solo album then why not.

I believe that signing with such a large POP label will actually hurt his music! He will be mass produced and not taken seriously. His music belongs on small indie label.
