Why Cheryl Cole spent New Year's Eve apart from Ashley

The tabloid press have got their mitts on Cheryl Cole 's holiday snaps, revealing where the X Factor judge spent her Christmas holidays.

The shots, published in Heat magazine, show the singer in South Africa over the festive break, where she rang in the New Year at US businessman Preston Haskell's lavish £800,000 party.

Flying out with her mum Joan the day after Boxing Day, Cheryl hit the luxurious Clifton Beach resort for a sun-filled holiday, leaving husband Ashley home alone while she partied 6,000 miles away.

Although Ashley had to stay behind to attend Chelsea squad training, we can't help but think he may have landed himself in more hot water with Cheryl.

The footballer only spent half of Christmas day with his wife because of football training (yawn) and was found guilty of speeding in his Lamborghini over the holiday.

Considering she puts so much time into telling the world how happy they are together they dont seem to spend any time outside the spotlight together. Its all a big front for the cameras....and getting very boring!!
