Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie braved the cold weather this weekend to treat their young family to a rare outing to the theatre.

The famous couple and their large brood took a trip to Broadway, arriving in a blacked out people carrier to watch a performance of the hit show Mary Poppins.

Snugly wrapped up against the winter chill, it was almost a full house, with Maddox, Shiloh, Zahara and Pax all in attendance.

But not present were one-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, who stayed snuggled up at home, leaving their older siblings to enjoy a grown-up night out.

And the Jolie-Pitt clan demonstrated perfectly how to stay stylish during cold winter weather.

The family looked on-trend as always, donning chunky scarves, padded jackets and woollen hats in an effort to stay warm despite the plummeting New York temperature.

The famous pair and their brood were even colour coordinated for their outing, in a palette of charcoals and soft greys.

Brad and Angelina even slid on their all-important shades in an effort to avoid waiting photographers as the family snuck out of the stage door at the end.
