Sports personality Chris Hollins took home the Strictly Come Dancing title this weekend, after a fab final dance with partner Ola Jordan.

The pair wowed with their fancy footwork, beating other famous dancers Ali Bastian and Ricky Whittle, both of whom were tipped for the top.

And ratings enjoyed a much-needed boost after the end of X Factor last week, with 11 million tuning in to watch Saturday's show.

But the winner Chris reveals his busy training routines have left him in the doghouse with girlfriend Sarah Alexander.

The star also cut short a holiday with his beau to join the Strictly line-up.

‘That went down very badly. I have to say I have been pushing it. Not only did I leave her on holiday, I also decided this was a good time to move out of our flat and buy a house,' he said.

'To make matters worse, I also didn't realise I was going to survive until Christmas so I haven't done any Christmas shopping or helped out with Christmas at all. So I am permanently in the dog house.'

Meanwhile Strictly's resident lovebirds Ali Bastian and Brian Fortuna have finally gone public with their romance, jetting off to Paris this weekend for a romantic break in the snow.

I think Ali and Brian should have won. It was such a shame they went home, especially after their perfect score - just shows it is a popularity contest, no one of talent.

I agree with Jen, Ali should definitely have won. She was the better dancer and gave Ricky a run for his money. Chris Hollins was voted for due to his popularity and not his dancing ability, his facial expressions still make me cringe!

My predicted winner Chris has left me smug and my wife owing me a fiver!! Chris played the game throughout and Team COla won... nice one!!

The best couple won in my opinion, loved following Chris, the ups the downs, he is such a gent. Ola deserved it, bless her! Great final!

well done Chris - what a lovely lovely man he is. He DID have the hardest journey, out of all the final favourites he had no dance training whatsoever, he DESERVED his win so get over it whiners!

Ola and Chris were superbly entertaining, exuding qualities that cheer people up and make them smile. You cant put a price on that, clear winners I'd say!
