Cheryl Cole's lonely Christmas
By Carla Bevan on Monday 21 December 2009
While you're tucking into your turkey this Christmas Day, spare a thought for Cheryl Cole, who'll be all on her lonesome this year, with husband Ashley Cole needed for training with his Chelsea mates.
'He spends Christmas on the training ground,' Cheryl admitted recently. 'It's not very romantic. He opens his presents and then goes off to his training happy.'
To ensure it's not just Cheryl and her pets sitting waiting for Ashley to come home, the star has rounded up a few family members to keep her company this Friday.
'I just want to spend Christmas with my family and my dogs. Then maybe go somewhere sunny.'

Cheryl is beautiful and apprears to have it all on the outside, but she often cuts a sad and lonely figure for one reason or another ... I know this is a work commitment, but it is often portrayed that she's not Ashleys top priority. I hope she works things out in future so that she gets a better deal.

That's so ridiculous - why on earth would anyone train on Christmas Day, especially in this weather?! It's not like lives are being saved or anything, surely football isn't THAT important?!

Cheryl is not the only WAG who will left for training on christmas day so I wish she would stop going on about it like she is the only one!

cheryl normally puts x factor before ashley so its fair enough he does it this once

why does everyone need to know this...it's not news!
Sure lots of people will be a lot lonelier than this at Christmas. She has her family & he'll be there with her to open presents. Many have no family or even a bit of food for Christmas....

I've worked on Christmas day, as have my sister and my mum in the past. Lots of people are without their loved ones while they go to work including nurses, doctors, fire fighters etc. I'm sure Cheryl will survive the day without him!
Comment by Helen on December 21 14:26
There are plenty of people who have to work christmas day like doctors nurses police and armed forces they do not have a choice Ashley and Cheryl do so she should stop feeling sorry for herself and spare a thought for all of those that have no choice!

What about soldiers' families left all alone because they are either serving in Afghanistan or have died? Why doesn't she organise a huge Christmas dinner for the ones in her Geordie land to give something back?? She has enough money - her and her husband - and they don't exactly save lives to earn all that dosh!!!! Go on woman, stop whinging and give a little back!!!
Comment by Cate on December 21 17:06
Tough - there is plenty in the world a helluva lot worse off this Christmas and would be only too glad to have her problem/s with all she has got.

My husband will also be training on Christmas Day but unfortunately he earns a tiny fraction of what Ashley Cole earns! I don't think my family would complain if he was on Ashley's wage!!
Comment by Louise on December 21 18:09
lucky she has the money to go somewhere sunny at this time of year, most of us can't afford it or have no one to go with!! Sorry but why feel sorry for someone rich that can do what they want, afford to go where they want, eat all the best foods, by the best presents etc
Comment by Debbie on December 21 18:46
Who cares - People should spare a thought for those who spend every christmas alone and have no money or even no home.
Both cheryl & cAshley are money orientated and deserve what they get.
Merry Christmas to All . . .

Cheryl wants to spare a thought for all the families who won't have their fathers, husbands, sons etc because they are at war! Thats a real reason to feel lonely at christmas!
Comment by Chantelle on December 21 22:21
I agree with Andrea, so what if Cheryl Cole is left alone for half a day, I'm sure Ashley will make it up to her in the future with ANOTHER fantastic holiday somewhere extremely exclusive & expensive. We should be thinking about the service men & womens families who will be alone this christmas not knowing what their husbands or wives are having to tolerate when they are posted abroad - now that's news!
Comment by Lesley on December 21 23:46
Why doesn't she invite little Joe McElderry round? I'm sure he'd come!
Comment by Su on December 22 07:12
I'm sorry but I've got no sympathy for the girl. I mean, come on - she's been with him how long? Surely this isn't the first time he's had to train at Christmas. I'm fed up of hearing poor Cheryl this, poor Cheryl that. She chose that life - deal with it!
Comment by jow76 on December 22 09:16
Cheryl - I'm not your family and can't provide somewhere sunny; however I too will be on my own and you are welcome to my place anytime!! MWAH!!
