David Beckham's 'worst nightmare'? Dinner with Tom Cruise

A night out with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes would be a dream come true for most movie-going fans, but David Beckham says he now thinks twice about accepting an invite from the Hollywood power couple.

Becks revealed in an interview this weekend that one dinner date he enjoyed with the War of the Worlds actor turned into his 'worst nightmare' after Cruise tried to get the whole table singing.

'We were at dinner once with Tom and Katie,' Becks recalled, 'and we sat there and everyone was like, "OK, let's play a music game, let's start a singing game!" So I was texting my friend, "Oh, please, invite me to your table!" I kind of get uncomfortable with that.'

Still, it hasn't put David off being friends with Tom, it's just he'd prefer not to dine in public with him if there's singing involved. In fact, it sounds like Becks is still a little in awe of his famous pal.

'You say there's good looking people, and you look at Tom, and he's one of the most handsome men I've ever met,' he added.
