Sex and the City superstar Sarah Jessica Parker has spoken out about regrets over her heavy workload in a new interview.

The famous fashionista has recently had twin girls, Tabitha and Marion, using a surrogate, and spoke of how work interferes with her new family life.

She said of having the twins: ‘It's been amazing but complicated because of my current work schedule, which I have enormous regrets about.'

In the interview with a US magazine, the star also talked about juggling her busy acting career with being a mum.

‘It is the eternal conflict of every working woman, and I am not complaining, because I've done this to myself. And I have a wonderful, wonderful nanny who allows me to be a working person,' she said.

‘The great challenge for me is to be all things to all people; I want to be a great mother, and I want to feel good when I'm at work. But it is hard.'

Do you think Sarah is right to be a working mother, or should her career come second now she has children? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box below.

SJP should definitely continue to work, she can afford the 'wonderful nanny' so why shouldn't she be able to have a career at the same time? Please stay on our screens SJP!!

She's completely right to work if she wants to. I don't think either choice is right or wrong, but she's spent so long building up a great career, it would be a shame to put it on hold now!

She is my favourite actress, and she is so elgant, and such a wonderful person, she is doing this to give her children a good life so no carry on being a wonderful actress, hold your head up and do the very best you can.Good Luck.

Try juggling it without the help of a nanny - then you'll know what "hard" is

What about her husband? Couldn't they arrange something like Brad and Angelina, where one of them works and the other stays at home? Acting is certainly a demanding career and very time-consuming, but it could also be very flexible. I think if she is unhappy with the balance she should sort it out, because she will only feel bad if she is forced to prioritise one thing or the other.

if she does not need the money from work which i presume she does not. then stay with your beautiful babies for their first 2 years.
revel in the delights of watching them learn to walk and talk, be there when their first steps are taken!
if you miss this there is a lifetime of regrets and plenty of work!

I think it is completly selfish to adopt 2 young children then pay someone else to bring up for. SJP is already missing out on the natural bond u get with a child thru giving birth and those little children will grow up with the nannys' values and probably have a bond that SJP will find hard to break. She could easily afford to take at least the first few years off to give her children a 'proper' mum;(.

Oh dear me- the 'real world' hits celeb-ville.

I'll swap you anyday SJP - want to try working full time and being a single parent with no fortune in the bank or wonderful nanny????

Won't hold my breath for a reply......

so your desperate for children and use a surrogate, then cant be bothered to stay home with them [a good actress who has earned good money can take time to be with these precious children look at julia roberts for example who took time out but now still in demand.] you can do what a lot of modern day mums cant do stay at home and enjoy those babies, they HAVE to work

Come on people - it's not like she needs the money, or she "suddenly" got pregnant, and it wasn't planned - she used a surrogate woman in Ohio for god's sake. Can't Matthew bring home the bacon? She carefully planned to become a mother - but obviously didn't plan to REALLY be one. She could have organized her working schedule much better.

Kids should not grow up with nannies... when they don't need to. She doesn't need to work and you only get one shot at seeing your kids grow up. If I was that surrogate in Ohio - I would be having enormous regrets too!
Comment by Clare on December 03 16:51

Her regrets can't be that enormous or she would have done something about it! Doing it to give the kids a good life? How, by not being there? Money alone does not give kids a good life. Yes, Mums need to find a balance in their life but I have to admit I find it hard to understand why anyone would choose to leave such young babies with someone else - and unlike many, she did choose.

when you choose to have children the balance should always be tipped in their favour. Why have children if you´re not prepared to make them your priority? It´s not as though she needs the money.
Comment by nic on December 04 05:27

I love her acting - but think she could afford to take a break and choose her roles around the kids so they don't miss out
Comment by joan on December 04 08:56

Why go to all the trouble of hiring a surrogate mother and then leave them with a nanny. Get your priorities right Sarah!
