A diva demand too far? Mariah’s calls for 20 white kittens refused

Mariah Carey is known for her diva demands, but she has really excelled herself this time, giving Westfield shopping centre a whopping list of requests after agreeing to switch on their Christmas lights.

Officials were told the star wanted to be surrounded by 20 white kittens and 100 white doves as she turned on the lighting display. But unfortunately, the superstar singer's demands were refused on health and safety grounds.

A source said: 'We did manage to source the doves that we were going to release into the sky, but the kittens proved terribly difficult.

'In the end, it was made clear that due to health and safety, there was no way we could have the animals at Westfield. We do not allow pets into Westfield - that rule would apply for everyone.

But aside from this, officials worked hard to meet Mariah's requests. The stroppy singer also asked to be driven by a Rolls-Royce along a pink carpet, to a pink podium where she could wave a wand to turn on the lights.

A source revealed, ‘We have worked extremely hard to make sure that Mariah's event is fantastic. Even the model of car had to be changed six times to one that her people liked.'

The starry singer will bring with her an entourage of 18, and have pink, butterfly shaped confetti showered over her at the end of the ceremony.

This comes after reports yesterday that Mariah kept presenter Philip Schofield waiting for over an hour, after turning up late and deciding to change her dress at the last minute.

The fuming This Morning star tweeted 'Sitting here twiddling our thumbs waiting for Mariah Carey.. la la la laaa', remarking afterwards that the star had turned up with an entourage ‘the size of Denmark'.

Wow! She is one demanding diva!

I've read an article where Maria protested the 'diva' rumors and maintained that she was very laid back. Is it possible that her manager is being difficult to live up to the superstar image? Either way, it makes her seem un-likeable. hmmm...

If people stopped pandering to her and stopped treating her like a goddess she would not be a Diva.Who does she think she is?I would tell her the terms and take it or leave it as there are more deserving people who can do the job. What a spoilt brat she is!

I have always thought that she's vile - why on earth do we want her over here - she's hardly a crowd puller; warbling, boring, out-dated songs, & I think, talentless...what an absolute waste of money. And why not someone British & interesting, who people actually like? Anyone who goes to see Maria (rhymes with....) will only be there because of the 'freak-show' value

Most magazine articles these days seem to go on about how down to earth and normal whichever front page celebrity of that issue is. They always say they're just regular people and all that. So Mariah rubbishing the diva rumours isn't something I'm going to buy into, I think fame and fortune just gets to people's heads.

And is she that out of touch with reality that she thinks 20 kittens are going to sit still and quiet? A kitten can't sit still at the best of times let alone sitting on a stage with 19 other kittens in front of hundreds of people! They'd run around and cause a bit of chaos, which I would love if I was in the audience, but I don't think that would exactly fit in with the scene she was going for...

If the stupid people hiring these people didnt let them get away with these ridiculous demands then the demand wouldnt be made in the first place. We are the people that pay these 'stars' wages theyd soon change their tune if we stopped paying for their music.

Does she think she is entering Noahs arch? Rest assured she may get numerous animals in two by two, but there is only one Mariah!
The kittens had a lucky escape because she may have used them as a rug after the event- come oon. I bet she would?!!!
