X Factor's Jedward shocked by pop star stage invader

Eagle-eyed viewers watched Saturday night's X Factor in shock as Jedward's performance was blighted by a man storming the stage with a pineapple on his head.

The pop star who invaded the stage was none other than Calvin Harris. Running on stage at the beginning of Jedward's performance, Calvin, 25, stormed on holding a pineapple above his head - an attempt at a joke about Jedward's infamous quiff.

The boys kept their cool and carried on with a cracking version of Queen/Vanilla Ice's Under Pressure.

After their performance, Simon Cowell - who is now their biggest fan! Praised the pair for keeping calm and conducting themselves professionally, despite Calvin Harris trying to put them off.

Calvin, however, was pulled off stage by security and banned from the show - he was due to appear on the spin-off show, the X-tra Factor. Calvin apologised for the prank but said, 'It's not for my own publicity. I'm not a celebrity - I make music.

'Dancing on stage with a pineapple on your head is a very stupid thing to do, but I also want to suggest that it's a very stupid television programme.'

The dance music star, who's had hits with I'm Not Alone and Dance Wiv Me, claimed that he is a fan of Jedward and added, 'I was very surprised how easy it was to get up there. If anything good is going to come out of it, they should stick another man in front of the stage.'

Despite the controversy Jedward survived this week's X Factor and are through to next week's show.

I didn't think it was fair that Jamie left the show, he afterall has an amazing singing voice. I have no idea what you would call the sound that comes our of the mouths of John and Edward!

'Cracking' version of the song? Was I watching a different show? And I wouldn't say Simon's their biggest fan now, I think he's just realised he's going to have to accept their being there with a bit more grace.

It's a shame to see Jamie go, I was rooting for him and there was no way anyone could say Lloyd sang better than Jamie in the sing-off, I think Louis just wanted to see Simon's ego take a hit, which is a shame but if the show was purely about talent, not looks, ratings or judge's egos, then there would be a very different set of remaining contestants right now anyway.

I love so much Jamie.HE WAS MY FAVOURITE.i am so unhappy that he left the xfaktor.he is incredible.

I was amazed, yet again the Jedward are still in the competition. When all 12 finalists were on stage and each doing a solo for the charity cd, the time allocated to the twins was one line, which proves that they cannot sing. Jamie is so much better and also out sung Lloyd but Louis just wanted to get back at Simon so voted him off. I think that Louis is Mr Nasty this year and is making himself look stupid with some of his comments. I only keep watching in the hope that Jedward will be voted off but the whole thing is becoming tiresome!!!!!

Was a real shame Jaimie went out, he should not have gone,he has an amzing voice and i loved him. Lloyd should have gone, sorry Lloyd. I dont think Jaimie would have won but he is tons better than Jedward and Lloyd. The singing is amazing this year and really dont know who will win but hope its not the twins as xfactor will lose lots of viewers next year.Jaimie will have good career hopefully.

the XFACTOR has become a joke. i couldn't take it seriously after all the deadlock that's going on, so i'm gonna stop watching it. i think it all started when the judges chose the finalists who i believe should never have been allowed to be on the show in the first place.

I cannot understand how Jamie failed to get enough support from the public. Perhaps many considered he was safe, so didn't bother voting. He has a far stronger voice and presence than Lloyd and the judges should have recognised this.
