Louis Walsh insists John and Edward can win

Terrible twosome John and Edward are definitely in with a chance of winning this year's X Factor, their mentor Louis Walsh insists.

He said, 'I think the twins can win it. They're not the best singers or dancers but they're brilliant entertainers. Who cares whether they're good singers or not? Madonna and Kylie aren't the best singers either but like the twins, they are great entertainers.'

The pair, nicknamed Jedward by fans, are reportedly going to sing Ghostbusters on next week's movie-themed show.

They have been voted in week after week, despite sounding less than perfect during their performances.

Even more surprisingly, celebrities are lining up to support the pair. Peaches Geldof wore a t-shirt with the slogan ‘Jed We Can' when she visited the studios last week, while American stars the Backstreet Boys have given the twins VIP tickets to their concert.

But Jedward must be doing something right, as this years X Factor is doing better than ever, with a record 15.8million viewers tuning in to see last Saturday's show.

With bottom three favourite Rachel Adedeji gone, there are just 8 acts left in the competition.

I can't believe these talentless idiots keep avoiding the bottom two. What is wrong with the people ringing in to vote for them?! They are keeping talented singers like Rachel out of the competition, who really deserve to be there! I blame Louis Walsh.

Let's take away the gimmicks and dancers and just let them stand in front of a mike and sing a ballard, then the public will realise that they can't sing and if they think what they do every Saturday evening is entertainment then a lot of the voters lead very strange lives!!!!

I think the twins are brilliant. what a show they put on each week. it's the people who vote them in so you can't blame Louis Walsh. looking forward to this week, can't wait!

I have always thought shows like the X Factor are a great way for talent to be discovered as it is a hard industry to make it in. Unfortunately some of the people who vote are as tone deaf as some of the people that apply! As for Louis... he was the idiot who gave them the chance by selecting them in the first place! He knew what he was doing... making a mockery of the whole show!

Why are these two still in the competition. My dog can sing better! It doesn't matter whether they put on a good show or not. At the end of the day when you listen to the radio, you don't want to listen to out of tune drivel.

X Factor is not a singing competition, much as people claim it as such - it is a TELEVISION programme!!! Jedward are v v watchable - they make it fun again. Totally agree with Louis re: Madonna and Kylie - they have the X factor which has made them stars despite not being the strongest singers. They are just fascinating to people.

They are talentless idiots, being kept in by other idiots, who think it's fun to wind up Simon Cowell.!! Let's face it, anyone with half a brain can see they're dreadful. (((PLEASE))) all you sensible people, pick up the phones and vote for the 'real' contestants...

In all fairness, when Jedward were kept in at the weekend and everyone started complaining, why didn't those people who complained vote for Lucy in the first place if they wanted her to stay in so much?!
