Do we have a hot new couple on our hands? Gerard Butler and Jessica Simpson were spotted laughing and flirting with each other at celeb hangout Soho House in New York this week.

Despite being surrounded by friends, it seems that the pair only had eyes for each other.

‘They were at a table with friends, but Jessica and Gerard, who were sat next to each other, seemed to only be interested in each other and chatted for hours,' an inside spy told the Page Six gossip column. ‘They were laughing and flirting and eventually left together.'

Although RocknRolla star Gerard and unlucky-in-love Jessica didn't leave alone - they were also accompanied by Jessica's hairstylist Ken Paves - we reckon we may well have spotted the start of a budding relationship. So watch this space...

I can't see it lasting myself, but it will be interesting to see if anything comes of it. They're probably both only interested in each other for one thing. A fling at best.

I think Jessica is beautiful and deserves a bit of good luck in her love life, and as for Gerard he is a very good looking man, so I think they will make a really cute couple.

Excuse me, they chatted "for hours" at a NYC restaurant and NOBODY has even a cell phone photo? In NYC this happened? Right. Okay they probably had dinner at Soho House with a large group of ppl, and maybe they spent some time talking, but that was it. The rest of this is total rot.

If it's true ... what is Gerry thinking!! Or should I say WITH what.... He's the sexiest man ever, but seems to me, only out for a good time, end of story. It's not going to happen, and I hope Jessica realises that if she has other idea's. (Not that I know either of them.... lol!)
