Cheryl Cole set to make chart history

By Sarah Karmali  on Wednesday 21 October 2009

Cheryl Cole - Celebrity News - Marie Claire

Cheryl Cole looks set to knock Alexandra Burke off the top spot this weekend with her debut solo single, Fight for This Love.

Alexandra's single Bad Boys flew straight to the number one spot last weekend, making it the fastest selling single of the year so far. But now it looks like her former mentor is about to strip her of that title, only one week later.

The Girls Aloud singer released her first ever solo single on Monday - and it's already sold more copies on the first day than Alexandra's track did on its first day of release.

Cheryl stepped out from behind the judging panel for a hugely anticipated performance of the song on Sunday's X Factor results show - pulling in the highest number of viewers in the show's history.

And despite all her pre-performance jitters (she apparently broke down in tears during rehearsals) she could breathe a sigh of relief afterwards, as she got the seal of approval from Simon Cowell, who described her performance as ‘incredible.'

‘Unfortunately, you're going to be number one next week,' he said.

And it looks as though once again, Simon's going to be proved right.

What was so incredible about her performance? Most of the song was recorded...but yet she calles herself an established singer. And what the heck was with the outfit? The jacket was nice but the rest I wonder.Kids are watching that program not only men so if she's a such a good singer why she's selling music and sex???Anyway, why she didn't change afterwards into something more apropriate for the show! However, great example for the acts in the show.I guess they should start recording their songs too as they are also very nervous.
If that song goes no.1 will prove that the brits will buy any rubbish !!! Great.
