Russell Brand and Katy Perry - it's official!

US popstrel Katy Perry and Brit comedian Russell Brand have confirmed they are dating, with a couple of serious PDAs.

The new couple were spotted sharing an intimate hug and kiss on the balcony at a party in Hollywood over the weekend - marking the first time that they have been so open with their affections since it was rumoured they were dating.

This came after Katy surprised her Brit boy at LAX airport on Friday, eschewing the usual chauffeured style favoured by celebs, and instead opting to drive her own car to meet him.

She was greeted by Russell with a huge grin and a cheeky kiss in the front seat, and the pair have been practically inseparable ever since.

Russell and Katy (or Rusty, as we may now start calling them) have been snapped together on numerous occasions over the past month, including sitting hand-in-hand on the front row at Paris Fashion Week.

So, will Miss Perry finally be the girl to tame the legendary lothario once and for all? Watch this space...
