Louis Walsh to miss second X Factor live show

Louis Walsh will not be appearing on Saturday night's X Factor, as he will instead be in Dublin to attend Stephen Gately's funeral.

The ceremony for the Boyzone singer will be held at midday on Saturday, in a church close to where he grew up.

It has not yet been confirmed whether or not Louis will be on the judging panel for Sunday night's results show.

Louis, who was Boyzone's manager and a close personal friend of Stephen's, missed last Sunday's show, after hearing about the singer's tragic death in Majorca.

A grieving Louis has spoken out about his heart-break at the loss of 'a great, great, great professional kid'.

'The boys are devastated,' he said of Stephen's Boyzone bandmates. 'It's like they've lost their very, very best friend, and me too.'

As mentor to the Groups category in this year's X Factor, 57-year-old Louis is said to have been in constant contact over the phone with his two contestants - trio Miss Frank and Irish twins Jonathan and Edward.

Post mortem results announced on Tuesday concluded that Stephen had died of natural causes, as a result of excess fluid on the lungs.

It's completely understandable that he's going to miss the show. Hope to see Louis back on the X Factor judging panel next week.
