Cheryl and the X Factor hit the States

She's already conquered the UK, now Cheryl Cole looks set for a glittering career in the US too.

Plans have been revealed to move The X Factor over to America, with Cheryl lined up to become one of the judges on the singing talent show.

Simon Cowell is said to be in talks with the Fox Network to transfer the hugely popular show to the States.

Hollywood Reporter magazine said Simon and Fox are still negotiating contracts and no firm deal has yet been agreed.

But if The X Factor does transfer across the Atlantic, it could make Cheryl one of the most successful stars on US and British television.

The respected insider magazine said Simon is still contracted to the American Idol show, but his contract is due to end next year.

'Cowell, in the final year of his contract on Idol, had been open about his desire to bring his mega-hit British format to the US, something he couldn't do under his existing Idol pact.

'Now Fox and Cowell are said to be hammering out a deal to launch an American version of X Factor.'

Another judge lined up to take part in the US X Factor is Paula Abdul, who famously quit this year's series of American Idol over pay disputes.

Louis Walsh is also rumoured to make the move to America - sorry Danni! No room left for you!

cheryl cole will not be anywhere near an american version of x factor. the judges will most likely be Paula simon and 2 americans. absolutely not cheryl cole, thats just laughable.

The whole idea of x factor usa is laughable. compared to american idol, it'll flop. at least american idol is about the contestants and not the just the judges like in x factor. just another money spinner for cowell rather than good tv.
