Kanye West storms stage at MTV VMAs

It may have had a star-studded guest list, featuring the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez, but just one person was the talk of the MTV Video Music Awards last night – Kanye West.

Unfortunately for the rapper, he stole the show for all the wrong reasons.

Storming the stage, Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for the Best Female Video Award, to unleash an astonishing rant in which he insisted the prize should have gone to Beyonce.

Ruining the country singer's moment, he snatched the microphone from her hands, and told her, 'Yo Taylor. I'm really happy for you, I'm going to let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.'

Swift had picked up the award for her single, You Belong To Me, beating Beyonce's Single Ladies.

Cutting to a shocked Beyonce, the singer looked horrified by West's rant, while poor Swift was left shell-shocked by the outburst.

West was ejected from the ceremony, which took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

Taking to his blog, he later apologised: 'I'm sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom. I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment.'

Meanwhile, Beyonce repaired the damage, and on winning the Best Video Award, called 19-year-old Swift on stage. The pair embraced, and Mrs Jay-Z asked the singer to finish the speech that Kanye had interrupted.

Speaking to MTV, Swift later described the moment: 'It was jus so wonderful and so incredibly classy of her and just gracious and wonderful to let me say something.'

And though the Kanye affair might have dominated the evening, there was an array of scene-stealing performances, including Janet Jackson's tribute to brother Michael.

What a total LOSER he is. Was he hoping his pathetic scene would somehow impress anyone? Taylor carried herself like a true lady and Westy made himself look bad.

It was obviously an ill-advised publicity stunt on West's part that went wrong. He looked like an arrogant idiot and Beyonce wasn't offering any support.

You know, I really don't like Taylor Swift and her music, but this is a whole new level of douchiness. I just have to be on her side, because it was simply idiotic and mind-bogglingly dumb from Kanye.

Aww poor Taylor she looked soo upset and disappointed and she should have been!! What a complete idiot Kanye is he should never have done that. He totally ruined and stole Taylors moment as se was soo happy and the he ruined for her :|
