Emma Watson has shot down rumours about abusing her celebrity status at her new university and says she is eager to start studying.

The Harry Potter star, 19, arrived at Brown University in the US last week and posted her reaction to her new surroundings on her website.

'I've finally arrived at Brown University and I'm having the most amazing time,' she says. 'I'm still so excited to be here; I've already met so many incredible people.'

But Emma, who also models for Burberry, shot down Internet rumours that she has been flashing her celebrity status in front of fellow students.

'Contrary to the reports you may have read, I didn't arrive by helicopter. I've only been in one once when I was little and I was terrified,' she blogged.

Emma is studying literature at the Rhode Island institution and her latest post makes her sound exactly like her book-loving character Hermione.

'I'm over my jet lag and I just want classes to start!' she says.

We hope life on campus continues to be just as enjoyable for Emma. Surely she could cause a little magical mischief if things get dull?
