Jack Tweed has been accused of raping a 19-year-old girl, and appeared before Magistrates this weekend.

The widower of Jade Goody is currently being held in East London's Pentonville Prison, after his arrest on Friday - the morning after the alleged attack. He spent 28 hours in police cells, and was charged with rape following an evening of questioning.

Two other men who were present on the night were arrested – one has now been released on bail and the other remains in custody.

The incident reportedly took place after a night out at Mayfair's Embassy Club. Tweed invited a group of women back to his rented flat, including the alleged victim.

The teenage girl walked to a police station from Tweed's rented house on Friday morning, and claimed she had been raped by the 22-year-old reality TV star.

Tweed appeared before magistrates at Redbridge in Essex on Saturday. He spoke only to confim his name, address and date of birth, and no bail application was made. He is now being remanded into custody.

It is believed that he will claim that he did have consensual sex with the teenager, but will deny rape.

The Sunday Mirror reports that speaking to a friend on the phone from prison, he stated: 'This is all so ridiculous... I have done nothing wrong. I was with the girl, but no way did I rape her. When the police came to the house I could not believe it. I feel drained and really low.'

This may be a good opportunity for this young girl in question to make money out of this situation. We all know Jack has no problem in getting the ladies after the sad passing of his wife, therefore I question if this actually happened. If it is true then Jack is a very silly boy. I do feel the media have given him a rough time.

I agree with Miss Owen. I believe this young girl is trying to make money out of Jack. I like him and think his so called freind have not helped. I beleive he is a sick Lad and no one seem to have helped him since the lose Jade.

If feel sorry for jack tweed. He is a likable lad. I admire him for supporting jade and marrying her he made her happy by these deeds. He loved Jade they got on well. The press have given him a hard time, ridiculing him for every thing he does. Give him a break
