Chris Brown: 'I still love Rihanna'

Six-months after his brutal attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown has finally spoken on that fateful night, and claims he still loves her superstar ex.

In his first interview since pleading guilty to felony assault, Brown sat down with People magazine and took the chance to open up.

Speaking on the night of the attack, he described, 'I was distraught … I went to my mom on the same night and told (her) what happened and broke down.'

In a statement, he added: 'I am ashamed of and sorry for what happened that night and I wish I could relive that moment and change things, but I can't. I take full responsibility for my actions.'

Brown was sentenced to five year's probation last week, and will now embark on a course of court-ordered counseling, on which he commented, 'I want to find out what really transpired as far as me that night. I just want to talk to (the counselor), someone who has dealt with this and has an expertise because I think it would be helpful for me to learn how to channel (anger) and understand my feelings.'

As for Rihanna, and he admitted he'd never stopped loving her: 'I never fell out of love with her. That just wouldn't go away.'
