Marie Claire Celebrity: Blake Fielder - Civil

They may be headed for the divorce courts but the latest on the Blake and Amy show is the troubled pair are set to reunite.

According to reports in the News of the World this weekend, Amy has ‘begged’ her soon-to-be-ex hubby to halt divorce proceedings and rekindle their romance.

The pair allegedly spoke on the phone for the first time in five months and Blake confirmed to the Sunday tabloid: ‘I love her as much as ever. I know she still loves me, even though we’re getting divorced.’

He added: ‘Maybe this time we can do everything properly and not mess it up.’

Despite the fact the duo are still to meet face to face, once Blake leaves rehab [as part of his parole terms], they are reportedly planning a secret date.

‘I want to take her out for dinner and propose again. I hope that within five minutes we’ll be planning where we’re next going to get married,’ said Blake.

He added: ‘She is looking beautiful and healthy now and it reminds me of the old Amy. She has been wearing my engagement ring and it meant an awful lot.’

The possible reunion will no doubt anger Amy’s parents, Mitch and Janis, who reportedly pushed for the divorce to go ahead.

But in Blake’s words: ‘We’re both adults and we’re both clean now. It’s up to us.’

Fielder-Civil made the decision to file for divorce on the grounds of Amy’s infidelity. In court last month a judge ordered a decree nisi, but the divorce will not be granted until 28 August.

Meanwhile, reports today suggest Amy will take to the stage and perform on the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing. Taking on a slightly different guise, Amy is said to have agreed to being a backing singer for her 13-year-old god-daughter, Dionne Bromfield, who is to sing her debut single.
