Fashion round-up: Teen Choice Awards

It was a veritable style parade at last night's Teen Choice Awards, as Hollywood's hot young things hit the green carpet.

The night may have been all about Tinseltown's new generation, but it was the industry veterans leading the way, showing the rising stylistas exactly how it's done.

First up, Ms Britney Spears stepped up to accept the Ultimate Choice - a lifetime achievement award - following a decade of Teen Choice appearances.

Looking back to her glamorous best, the songstress flaunted her picture-perfect pins in a miniscule sparkling black dress, and revealed her newly back-to-blonde long-and-light locks.

Accepting another coveted surfboard was Cameron Diaz, this time the Choice Summer Movie award for flick My Sister's Keeper. The actress was uber-elegant in a grey form-fitting shift dress, teamed with colour pop electric blue peep-toes.

Trend-wise, thigh-skimming hemlines were the order of the day. Vanessa Hudgens reached new sartorial heights in a Christian Dior violet minidress, while Megan Fox glittered in a teeny-tiny gold number.

Joining the mini crew, Leighton Meester continued her reign as TV's queen bee of fashionistas, in a chic in a Louis Vuitton monochrome dress and Brian Atwood ruby red heels. Fellow small screen starlet, Heroes' Hayden Panettiere went pretty in pink, in a Zac Posen ruched number, with coordinating peep-toes.
