The rumour mill has gone into overdrive with news that Penelope Cruz is pregnant with her first child.

Hollywood whispers have reached fever pitch after the baby news broke on gossip website justjared.com, when sources claimed the Spanish beauty is expecting with her boyfriend, actor Javier Bardem.

‘Penelope is about four months pregnant,’ the source told Just Jared. ‘She’s really healthy now and will be a great mother.’

The 35-year-old has been on the promotional trail for new Pedro Almodóvar movie Broken Embraces, working an array of on-trend ensembles, but were her latest looks cunningly disguising a growing bump?

When the star hit the capital last week for the movie’s London premiere she wore a head-to-toe scarlet Bottega Veneta suit with a draped silk cami that hid any sign of a baby bump.

Then on Monday this week Cruz hit the red carpet in a stunning floorlength one-shoulder teal gown. And while the frock was super-fitted, we spotted strategic rouching across the bodice and tummy.

If the gossip is to be believed, it doesn’t look as though the Spanish pair are set to tie the knot any time soon. Cruz recently told Pschologies magazine: ‘When I [have babies], I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life. I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children.’
