How Jude met Samantha

The truth behind Jude Law's hook-up with the mother of his fourth child, Samantha Burke, is out – and it seems Jude's not the serial monogamist we took him for.

According to a friend of Burke, the pair met outside a club in New York's Meatpacking District last year - while Jude was filming Sherlock Holmes in the city - and enjoyed an all-too-brief fling, during which the model became pregnant.

'They actually met after the club had closed, on the street. He took her to a diner around the corner and then to the Greenwich Hotel, where he was staying. She stayed over that night,' reveals the indiscreet source.

'In the morning, Jude had to make his call time so he left her in his hotel room. When she took off, she left him her phone number, and after a few days, he called back and said he'd like to take her out to dinner. They never did make that dinner - they just stayed in his hotel room.'

The affair lasted less than a week, after which Jude stopped answering Samantha's calls; by the time she realised she was pregnant, he'd changed his number.

After that, Burke - who earlier this week held a press conference asking for media privacy - hired a lawyer and had him make the necessary calls.

'When Samantha found out she was pregnant, she left Jersey City and moved back home to Pensacola, Florida,' the insider tells the New York Daily News.

'She decided to keep the baby, but never expected Jude to have any part in the child's life. So she had her lawyer contact him in April, where they negotiated a settlement that should keep her pretty comfortable.'

I read this and laughed in disgust. How can a lady (and I use that term loosly) who has known someone for less than a week, met him on the street, slept with him......know that he is definately the father. How many other men did she pick up like this????

Actually my comments above were quite unfair on the 'mother', Jude is just as bad!!!
