Robbie Williams to take over Jacko 02 dates
By Ruth Doherty on Friday 31 July 2009
Robbie Williams is set to make a huge comeback – by taking over Michael Jackson's 02 tour dates.
The former Take That star is hoping to fill slots left open by the death of Michael Jackson early next year.
It is set to be a big comeback for the singer, who's been out of the limelight since his 2006 album, Rudebox, flopped.
Robbie is hoping to promote his new album, Reality Killed the Video Star, which he's releasing in October.
It is thought he'll share the dates with Whitney Houston, who's also making a comeback with a new album, I Look to You.
A source told the Evening Standard: 'Robbie's eagerly-awaited album will be out soon and he is likely to be touring Europe next year.
'It will be perfect for him to start with shows at the O2.
'Whitney Houston has been on the O2 arena wish-list for a while - she has the voice and hits to sell the arena out several times over.'
Robbie has teamed up with top music talent for the new album, including Mark Ronson and his old writing partner Guy Chambers, who co-wrote his biggest hit, Angels.
