WATCH Katie Holmes dance!

By Lucy Hutchings  on Friday 24 July 2009

Katie Holmes - Celebrity News - Maire Claire

Katie Holmes slipped on her dancing shoes last night, and shimmied her way through a toe-tapping tribute to Judy Garland for the 100th episode of US TV show, So You Think You Can Dance.

Mrs Cruise wowed the crowds with her all-singing, all-dancing rendition of Get Happy, in which she flaunted her picture-perfect pins in fishnet tights, a satin tuxedo jacket and skyscraper heels.

The actress performed the routine on behalf of the Dizzy Feet Foundation, of which she is a founding member, which provides dance scholarships to talented, underprivileged young people.

'I think it’s important for children to experience music and dance,' Katie told the show's host Cat Deeley. 'Every child should have the opportunity to discover what it is they like and have access to the very best in that pursuit.'

Watch Katie's Broadway-worthy performance below.

She looks terribly thin! And plus it was obvious she wasn't singing, pretty crap overall I think!

Nice singing but where was the dancing? And to the UK tv companies - please bring SYTYCD over here. I watched it for three years when I lived in the States and it is a really great show - people with real talent, developing new skills and educating the audience about a wide range of dance genres (some of them quite challenging, like modern and jazz) - and still great entertainment too.

ok, she's cute and sings well..... but calling what she did here 'dancing' is stretching it a lot. Glorified walking would be a more appropriate description

I think she looks fantastic and did a good job dancing. Ok whether she is actually singing is fairly questionable since she doesnt have a mic but it was entertaining.

that wasn't dancing. that was kicking, being carried, and holding onto a hat. and then looking self-satisfied into a camera for an inordinate amount of time. but honestly, i feel bad for her. it must be really terrible being that untalented AND married to tom cruise.

She did an OK job... better than I could I suppose. But incomparable to the talents & beauty of Nicole Kidman!
