Mischa Barton on the mend

Mischa Barton's rep claims the actress is 'making improvements' and will be back at work next week.

Although the star's reps won't confirm or deny what caused her to be placed under psychiatric evaluation in the first place, they have admitted she is suffering from a health problem, but insist she aims to be back at work within the month.

The former OC star is slated for a lead role in the forthcoming The Beautiful Life, which starts shooting 31 July, however, as recently as yesterday it was thought another character would be created to fill the void left if Mischa was unable to make the TV show's start date.

However, her rep says she plans to be well enough to take part in the production even though she is 'still seeking treatment'.

People.com reports that Mischa has now left Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA where she was taken late last week.
