A man has been arrested and cautioned, after sending a string of death threat text messages to Fearne Cotton.

The Radio 1 DJ was left shook up and terrified after receiving the threatening messages while on air with her co-host, Reggie Yates.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, a source described the texts as 'graphic' and 'made her fear for her life.' The threat was considered so severe that Cotton was escorted home by police following the show.

Now Scotland Yard has confirmed that a 21-year-old man from Derby has been cautioned in connection with the case.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police commented: 'A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with sending threatening SMS text messages. He subsequently received a caution.'

Meanwhile, Cotton was back at work yesterday. She is set to take over Jo Whiley's weekday slot on the BBC radio station this September.
