Mischa Barton called police to her home in Los Angeles yesterday over a ‘medical issue’, prompting speculation the ailing actress is experiencing new health fears.
The 23-year-old reportedly called LA police to her Hollywood pad and was subsequently taken to an undisclosed location.
Police confirmed to media sources in America that officers were ‘currently assisting’ Barton with ‘a medical issue’.
The starlet has recently been photographed in London on a night out and earlier last month, opening the Harrods sale, with a very puffy, pale face and wide-eyed, sparking health concerns. However, according to friends close to the star, her unlikely appearance is down to having wisdom teeth removed.
Barton confessed to Marie Claire last year that following her arrest for driving under the influence and possession of marijuana, she checked into a rehab clinic to battle her addictions.
She revealed: 'I wanted to prove to the court that I would take it completely seriously, so I went to rehab to prove I was sober.'
However, only two weeks ago Barton was thrown out of the ladies' loos at London nightspot, Whisky Mist, after trying to enter a cubicle with a friend in tow.
A rep for the star has refused to pass comment on the latest saga, fuelling the gossip flames that a wisdom teeth operation may be something of a smoke screen.
