SEE Carly Zucker and Joe Cole on their ‘honeymoon’ dinner

They just enjoyed a lavish £3 million wedding, but Carly Zucker and Joe Cole barely raised a smile as they stepped out of the upmarket eaterie, Cipriani, after their romantic ‘honeymoon’ dinner last night.

The footie star and the former fitness instructor married last month in a plush ceremony at the chapel of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, followed by a reception at London’s exclusive Hempel Hotel.

And the pair have been treating themselves to a series of upmarket dinners instead of a holiday honeymoon, as they enjoyed a pre-wedding break in an exotic location just three days before the ceremony.

But there will be lots of time for flash holidays – as Carly recently stated she has given up work to play housewife to her new hubby.

‘I tried it [working] with the personal training as well as running the house, and it just made me stressed and unhappy.

'It wasn’t good for me and it wasn’t good for Joe and his football.

‘I am offered projects all the time but I don’t feel I need to prove anything, or that I need a career to feel good about myself.’

She added: ‘I am lucky enough to be in the position where I don’t have to work.’

Do you think she’s right to give up work and live a life of leisure? Or should she fly the flag for the modern woman and get a job?

I am lucky enough to be in the position where I don't have to work - typical statement from a typical WAG. No you don't need to work because you spend your husband's money instead of your own wages, and how did her working, running a house (basically making sure the cleaner got into those hard to reach areas) affect Joe Cole and his football??? These women are lazy and sending the modern woman backwards, my mum works and cooks/cleans/washes and irons everyday!
Women fought for us to be able to have a career in the first place and it's like these 'bloodsuckers' are latching on to rich men and sending us backwards???

Why not give up work if she is in a position to do so. I would!! Its not a bad thing to want to look after your family full time. Good on her!!

I would give up working too if I had the option! I do believe that women should have the same opportunities as men, and I'm grateful for the women who fought for us to be able to have a career, but I also believe that women have the right to decide whether they actually want to have a career in the first place or be a stay-at-home wife and mother. Career orientated people shouldn't judge women who are happy to be stay-at-home wives and mothers, just as those stay-at-home wives and mothers (or husbands!) shouldn't judge those that are career orientated.
