Madonna lined up for X Factor

Madonna is in talks to perform on this year’s X Factor, according to reports.

The Queen of Pop is one of a host of big-name stars the studio bosses are hoping to get on the show, along with former Take That star, Robbie Williams.

Other top acts like Lady GaGa and Rihanna are also lined up to appear, and even Beyoncé - who will be in London for two more 02 concerts in November - is considering putting in another performance.

Last year, Beyoncé took to the stage and belted out a version of her hit Listen with The X Factor winner, Alexandra Burke – and the duet proved a huge crowd-pleaser.

A source told The Sun: ‘The last series proved anything is possible when Beyoncé performed with Alex. The final got 15 million viewers and that is enough to entice the biggest stars on to our stage.

‘This year is going to be bigger than ever - we are planning to get the best names in music. Madonna and Robbie would be sensational.’

With the show's reported £6 million budget boost, Simon Cowell shouldn’t find it too hard to pay for them, either.

X Factor fever is already in full swing, as Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue’s audition dresses drum up serious publicity for the show, which starts again on 22 August.
