They were once competing for the affections of Brad Pitt, and now Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie have battled it out in the race for the highest paid actress of 2008.

And Angelina Jolie just pipped Jen to the post – again.

The Changeling star has been crowned the highest paid actress of last year in Forbes' Celebrity 100, racing home with $27 million, while Marley & Me star Jennifer pocketed $25 million.

Meryl Streep followed up in third place making $24 million thanks to the runaway success of the feel-good film Mamma Mia!.

And, of course, Sarah Jessica Parker, bagged the number four spot with $23 million after our favourite flick of the year Sex and the City: The Movie made tidal waves in the sea of 2008's films.

The number five spot was taken by Cameron Diaz who ranked in a not-bad-going $20 million, while Sandra Bullock and Reese Witherspoon shared sixth place with a take-home sum of $15 million.

Not bad, ladies!

I like Jen, and I absolutely hate angelina, she thinks she is amazing she is not, she is common.Jen has much more grace, elegance, and she is so much more refined.

You can say much about Angelina but you can't possibly say she is common, she has an absolute stunning face, one of the most beautiful I've seen. As for their personalities, Jennifer is the girl next door type, I really admire her positive and down to earth attitude, considering her disastrous love life. As for Angelina, i don't know her, but she seems really cool and nice int he interviews.

It has to be said that it's the press that is blowing this rivalry out of proportions, and the majority of the public is stupid enough to take sides. Jennifer and Angelina are, in fact, quite passive in this competition. However, I can obviously see that they both have a reason to detest each other.

I like both actresses but think Angie is the better of the two, she is also far better looking ( even though I don't like tatoo's)and after all has a hell of a man on her arm.

Jen and Angelina are like me and floozy, the woman who stole my husband - I'm 8 years older than her (Jen is 40 to Angelina's 33?) and she is as common as muck - never worked and didn't know how to fend for herself after she left her husband - who always supported her, and threw herself at mine, cos she didn't know how else to survive!!!! Well, I always fended for myself and worked, I now have 2 pensions, enjoy life, travel worldwide, and don't need to depend on a man - though I do have a partner with his own house, pension and bank account, but I still keep my own account - I'm sure Jen will get there eventually, and will realize what a lucky escape she had from Brad, who is so weak, he just went along with Ang - she rules the roost and he just nods!!!!!
