Michael Jackson's 'fairytale funeral'
By Lucy Hutchings on Wednesday 1 July 2009
More than a millions fans are expected to descend on Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch this week, following news that a public wake will take place this Friday.
With a private memorial set to take place on Sunday for close family, a 30-strong motorcade will transport the singer's body the 150 miles from Los Angeles tomorrow.
Although details remain unconfirmed, rumours are rife that Jackson's body may then be placed in a glass casket for public viewing at Neverland, giving fans the chance to see the King of Pop for a final time.

Other reports suggest that the coffin may be placed in a white carriage, which will travel the funeral route.
The arrangements have apparently caused heated disagreements amongst the Jackson family, but the very public plans were apparently decided upon as it was believed that Michael would want his fans to have the opportunity to see him.
Reverend Al Sharpton, who has been assisting the family told USA Today, 'They've not made the final decisions.
'My recommendation is that they do whatever they want - private or for close associates - and then at a later date let the whole world have a celebration, maybe around his birthday at the end of August.'
Meanwhile, authorities are gearing up for a mass pilgrimage, as fans start their journey to Jackson's former home. Speaking yesterday, a senior LAPD chief said: 'We are preparing for an event of historic proportions.'
Details of Jackson's final resting place remain firmly under wraps.

I grew up with Michael Jacksons music. He is and was legend. I was hopeing to see him at the 02 - one of my lifelong ambitions to see him perform - now I never will. It's so sad. He was such a sweet, talented and I believe misunderstood and lonely man. he will be so missed by family, friends and fans. His music and his legancy will go on forever.

It's so sad that Michael left us so early..he was so talanted as an artist and so kind as a human being...
Shame on all people who couldn't leave him alone. I don't believe even one word of those allegations against him! He was just a big kid, who liked to spend time with other kids and bring them joy and happiness! He never was found guilty but yet people treated him like a dirt!
I love you Michael! You were and always will be the best artist and human being I've known.
Rest in peace!
