Billy Bob Thornton's daughter charged with child murder

The estranged daughter of Angelina Jolie's ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton has been charged with the murder of a one-year-old she was babysitting in Florida.

Amanda Brumfield, 29, has been indicted on several charges over the death, including first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child.

Court records reveal Amanda told police that the baby who died in her care acted normally and ate bananas after banging her head following a fall from a tree.

But it is thought detectives believe the girl's injuries are inconsistent with Brumfield's story.

When contacted, Thornton's publicist said he had not spoken to his daughter in a number of years.
