FIRST LOOK: Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway in Alice of Wonderland

The first pics from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland have been released – and they're as weird and wacky as you'd expect!

Johnny Depp looks suitably creepy as the Mad Hatter with glassy green eyes, bloody fingers and flame-haired locks.

Helena Bonham Carter takes up the role of the Red Queen, while Anne Hathaway is an ethereal White Queen.

Brit comedian Matt Lucas has been transformed into an hilarious 'egg' caricature of himself for the guise of Tweedledum and Tweedledee.

And Alice? The main part will be played by a 19-year-old as-yet-unknown Australian star called Mia Wasikowska.

The 3-D animation is set for release in spring 2010.

Anne Hathaway?! She doesn't fit in a Tim Burton movie. :(
I love almost all of Tim Burtons movies and I cannot see her as Alice.
