Marie Claire celebrity news: Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty

Sienna Miller has revealed why she decided to call time on her relationship with married billionaire Balthazar Getty.

The actress has said she made the decision after being advised  to by a friend over lunch – at a restaurant ironically called Balthazar.

Sienna, 27, said: ‘She took me to lunch - funnily enough to a restaurant called Balthazar, but she never commented on the irony of that.'

Miler continued: 'She said: “You've been through hell and you need to talk about it with someone.”

‘I got to the point where I was doing things that I didn't necessarily think I was capable of as a person.

‘And I wanted to be conscious of my actions.'

Sounds like the Edge of Love star's conscience got the better of her.

Sienna’s relationship with the married father-of-four Brothers & Sisters actor caused a controversial storm here and Stateside, where Balthazar’s wife, Rosetta, was left seriously red-faced.

And the furore did nothing for Sienna’s reputation, with the press dubbing her ‘Sluttyienna’.  

But at least she can admit to her mistakes - and move on.

i would only believe that she's sincere in this if she won't be stealing another woman's husband in the future. she seems to be having affairs with married men. what's up with that? no wonder she was nicknamed sluttyienna.

This is all a whitewash as she is worried about her career, Miller and Getty are still together, seen coming out of the A1 Hotel in LA just before she flew to Madrid by a passer by and I believe him rather than Miller's PR'S or the Mirror Newspaper. I agree with SAM, if she had any morals she would not have started the affair in the first place. And never had a date, no mostly likely never goes past the Bed stage. Grow up Miller and stop playing the Victim

Sorry but HE was the one who was married! She is a single woman under no such moral imperative. I'm tired of the knee-jerk response of bad-mouthing the woman in situations like this (see also Angelina Jolie, forever branded as a 'homewrecker' when it was Brad Pitt who made the choice to leave a marriage). Don't women get enough stick in the press already? Please can people stop being so vile about them?!

Hmmm. I agree that this is all on Sienna, not Getty. Clear she has a thing for men that can do things for her career. How can we forget Jude Law or Rhys Ifans. I'm not buying the PR sorry!

I put the blame on Sienna not at Getty's door on this one. She clearly has a thing for man that can do something for her career. Dare we forget Jude Law and Rhys Ifans? Who know of her before the Jude law affair (also marry wasn't he?) then she tried the 'get creditability route by dating Rhys Ifans. Now super money bags Getty. This girl is on an agenda. No ring or kids is gonna get in her way. So sorry I'm not buying the sudden moral conscious

All stories about their split are lies. They are still very much together. They were photographed kissing in Positano, Italy over the weekend so articles about their split are nothing more than a manipulation of the media, probably by Sienna's PR.

Jacqui Lewis - Oh what, Sienna is unmarried so she can do as she pleases including sleeping with married men? Are you kidding? Sienna IS under a moral imperative - sorry. Yes, Getty was the one who was married but a man cannot have an affair with a woman unless that woman agrees to sleep with him. If the woman turns the man down, there can be no affair. Therefore Sienna gets grief because she literally enabled the affair. In addition, she broke a cardinal rule of sisterhood and that is you don't mess around with a guy who is committed. That is why Sienna gets grief and that is why Angelina continues to get grief for enticing Brad away from Jennifer (isn't he sorry now though!).
