Leonardo DiCaprio and model Bar Refaeli have hit the skids again and are officially ‘on a break’, according to U.S. reports.

That well-known phrase that spells relationship disaster has been coined to describe the on-again-off-again couple’s latest split after sources confirmed to People.com that they have called time on their romance.

Despite being spotted the night before the news broke doing some late-night bookstore shopping in Los Angeles (where the pair looked decidedly unhappy), sources close to the couple have said the golden duo have put the breaks on.

‘They’re taking time off for the time being, they’ve split. It could just end up as a break but for now they’re doing their own thing,’ said the source from Leo’s camp.

Meanwhile, a source close to Bar divulged: ‘She wanted to move faster than he did, she wanted to move in together, so he broke it off.’

Speculation over the couple's status grew when the 23-year-old swimsuit model walked the red carpet alone at recent event, Hollywood Life's 11th Annual Young Awards.
