Susan Boyle 'will take part in tour'

Britain’s Got Talent runner-up, Susan Boyle, has finally spoken out about her recent stint in private clinic The Priory and insists that she will be well enough to perform in the talent show’s nationwide tour.

Boyle checked out of the psychiatric hospital last week after five days recovering from exhaustion, following the seven-week whirlwind that saw the singer splashed across every tabloid front page and appear on chat shows from Oprah to Larry King.

Despite chief medical officer at The Priory, Professor Chris Thompson, stating that ‘any admission to a psychiatric hospital for a matter of days is, in my opinion, a failed admission,’ Boyle left the facility last Friday and is adamant she will join her fellow BGT contestants on the nationwide tour.

According to The Sun, Boyle, dubbed The Hairy Angel by the media, told aides: ‘I’d hate to let me fans down. They put me in this amazing position and I owe it to them as a mark of thanks.’

An insider close to the West Lothian warbler added: ‘She has made it clear she wants to be a part of the tour, no matter what. Producers and those close to her have told her the decision is entirely up to her and there is no pressure whatsoever.

‘But she's very headstrong and would love the chance to perform at such incredible venues in front of so many people.’
