Cheryl Cole spends £36k on fat-busting machine

Cheryl Cole doesn't want to be outshone by Dannii Minogue on the new series of The X Factor, so the svelte star has splashed out £36k on a brand new 'wind tunnel' exercise bike.

The Girl Aloud is reportedly so determined to be ultra-toned when the new series of The X Factor starts in August, that she's invested in the Hypoxi Trainer S120 from luxury department store Harrods.

But what's sparked the impulse buy? Recent pictures of a trim-looking Dannii on an Australian beach, apparently.

A source told a Sunday newspaper: 'Cheryl knows she's not fat but she's paranoid about sitting next to Dannii on TV.

She's seen photos of Dannii looking very slender and it's made her even more nervous.

‘She thinks this will give her the quick fix she needs before X Factor starts in August.

The contraption – described as a 'portable wind tunnel' - is said to reduce inches and cellulite by creating a pressurised environment inside a chamber while you pedal away inside wearing an unsightly vacuum suit.

A six-week course of three sessions a week is all that is needed to reduce fat and cellulite in the lower body, and acts as a reported equivalent to six months' worth of gym workouts.

It's the latest celebrity weight loss craze, with other stars like Robbie Williams snapping one up, too.

The bike's creators claim: 'While you gently pedal, the vacuum sucks the blood flow into your lower regions, which concentrates the breakdown of fat in those areas.

‘It's like exercising at an altitude of 2000 metres, but without the strain on your heart and lungs.'

But, at a sizzling size 8, does Cheryl really need to lose weight? Leave your thoughts below!

I don't understand...size 8?? At one point it was quoted that she was 7 stone, and at about 5"3/4 she was a size 4! If she was a size 8 there wouldn't be so nmuch of a commotion over her weight!?

Crikey her head albeit a gorgeous one looks too big for her far too skinny body already... I cant belive she thinks she needs to be any thinner

I agree she doesnt need to lose weight at all. She's one of my style icons, but being in the public eye constantly she probably wants to look more toned. Especially next to Danni, who already looks way too thin!

She's so vile, a few months ago, she said she thought she was too skinny, and was worried about projecting a bad body image to young teenagers. Now look at her, still too skinny, yet thinking she's fat. I bet loads of her fans are trying to lose of weight, or dissappointed in her actions.

£36k - what a waste of money...could have gone to making the world a better place. what a shame someone like cheryl got the money instead.

SO funny : )
At last a purpose for Cheryl Cole, quality humour.

Another crazy chick - and she thinks she's serious about having a baby in the near future, no she WON't - she's too selfish - at this rate her periods will stop as well!!!! Like Susan Duffey said, I have commented before on these so-called celebs having a huge head on a tiny body (ditto posh spice) and as for Dannii looking trim, surely she's not jealous of her figure???Naturally born Australians are athletic and sporty, what does prancing Sheryl think she does for a living - she's so ordinary - nobody would look at her twice if she didn't sing in a mediocre group!!!
